Epstein, Broken Vinyl Club & Henry's Funeral Shoe @ Clwb, 29th May

Headliners the Epstein bring their folk/country/rock sound described by Q magazine to be ‘engaging as Calexico and as endearing as The Broken Family Band’ to Cardiff for the first time in what promises to be one of 2010’s live shows to be at! The Oxford based 5 piece released their debut album ‘Last of the Charanguistas’ to widespread critical acclaim in the UK and Europe, giving them the opportunity to tour extensively throughout Holland and Germany and secure number of prestigious UK festival performances including Glastonbury and Wychwood.

Our own Broken Vinyl Club support!! Experiencing the Broken Vinyl Club’s live show is not unlike stumbling upon The Quarrymen at a garden fete and knowing something big could be around the corner! Currently holed up in their Valleys HQ, crafting their debut LP to be released later in the year, the band is aiming to bring their Sixties influences together to form an exciting and totally modern new whole.

Plus the fantastic scuzzy blues rock of Henry's Funeral Shoe! Hearing Henry’s Funeral Shoe unleash their high octane, heavy rock and psychedelic blues sound from the stage is a delight. Currently signed to US based Alive Records, home to the likes of the Black Keys, the guitar/drum blues duo’s debut album ‘Everything's For Sale’ reminds us that Wales and the UK can produce not just great pop music but also some phenomenal rock'n'roll.
